Capital Metro Webinar: Connecting Employers with Mobility Options

We had a great turnout on October 18th for the Capital Metro Works for Business Webinar, where we heard from employers and service providers throughout the region. Traffic congestion means employers are facing mobility challenges such as engaging employees, becoming an employer of choice, building a toolkit of options, incentivizing employees, and implementing an HR policy for transportation. Do these challenges sound familiar?

During the webinar Alix Scarborough discussed Movability Austin and our role. Greg Buford gave employers information about MetroWorks, Capital Metro’s bulk discount program for employee transit passes that lets employers buy passes at up to 20% off retail price. Annie Arguello covered Metro RideShare, Capital Metro’s vanpool program for groups of commuters to ride to work together. The vanpool vehicles, insurance and maintenance are all provided by Capital Metro, while the group splits the cost of vehicle operations. Try Transit was our final presentation by Lonny Stern with Capital Metro. TryTransit is a fun way to get comfortable with transit by taking a guided ride to happy hour or lunch on one of Capital Metro’s transit options, or by hosting a “Traffic Bites” Workshop to see how technology helps make for a better commute.

These kinds of programs benefit Movability members and their employees by reducing the number of vehicles on the roads each day. What topics or services do you want to hear about?  Comment to let us know what our next webinar should cover!
