Starting January 8, Capital Metro is putting a new (lower cost!) fare structure into effect: the Premium Fare category is gone, which means all MetroBus, MetroRapid, and MetroFlyer services will cost $1.25 for a single ride, $2.50 for a day pass, $11.25 for a 7-day pass and $41.25 for a 31-day pass. Prices for MetroExpress and MetroRail services will not be affected. For commuters who make transit part of their daily travels, this should mean it’s easier to transfer between routes, not to mention a less expensive commute option! If you’re a commuter looking for a change, this new fare structure might fit perfectly with your New Year’s resolution to save money.
For employers that choose to help employees purchase transit passes, the new fares are also a benefit.
Capital Metro chose to adopt the new fare structure after receiving feedback during its 5-year planning study, Connections 2025.
Visitors to Capital Metro’s website will also notice that it has a new look. The overhauled site includes easy-to-find links to schedules and maps, fare information, trip planner, and service alerts.
