No, You’re Not Seeing Double

metroexpress-double-decker-750xx640-359-0-100If you see a double decker Capital Metro bus zip by, there’s a reason, and it’s not a British invasion.

Capital Metro is doing a short test – from Oct. 31 to Nov. 11 – of the double decker buses on its Route 935. Depending on what the folks at Capital Metro learn, they might use the double decker buses on corridors like MoPac, U.S. Highway 183, and I-35.

The ADA-compliant buses can carry 89 seated passengers, 11 standing passengers, and bikes. That’s more than double the capacity of its MetroBuses.

If you’re a commuter who already takes or could take Route 935, hop on the double decker bus for a free ride! Fares will not be charged during the trial. The double decker will run approximately five minutes ahead of the scheduled, regular 935 bus.
