Getting Around ACL

Austinites and visitors enjoyed a beautiful first ACL Festival weekend, and are getting ready for a second one.

If you’re planning to go to the festival this coming weekend, take a tip from the savvy travelers who went to weekend #1 and take advantage of travel options!unnamed

There will be a lot of traffic, thanks to street closures, and there is NO parking at Zilker Park. With that in mind, here are a few ways you can get there and back:

  • Use the ACL Shuttle: complimentary shuttles will travel between Republic Square and Zilker Park from 10:30am to 11:00pm. Get there on foot, bike, or bus. Route 801 drops passengers off directly at Republic Square Station. During the festival, MetroRapid will run until 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and 12:30 a.m. on Sundays. Several other Capital Metro bus lines – including Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 37 – drop passengers off within a block of the shuttle site. Another option for attendees is to take MetroRail into downtown Austin, and then walk a few blocks to Republic Square. MetroRail service will begin at 10:30 a.m.during ACL and operate until 2:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and until 12:30 a.m.on Sunday. The Downtown Station is located at 4th and Trinity.
  • Travel right to Zilker using the MetroRapid 803, 3, 30, or 338 buses.
  • Take a B-Cycle or Car2Go: Austin B-Cycle will have a valet station set up at Zilker Park, and Car2Go will have a drop zone at 1540 Toomey Road for the festival.
