Mirror, Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Weirdest of Them All?

Earlier this month, Austin City Council adopted the 2014 Austin Bicycle Master Plan, which will implement elements of the Imagine Austin plan by creating a connected and protected network. The main goal of the plan is to increase bicycle use, and improve bike safety throughout Austin.

This is pretty great news – but we’re sorry to say Austin, the bike arena is one in which we were out-weirded in November.

Take, for instance, the French daredevil who rode a rocket-powered bike to 207 miles per hour, outracing a Ferrari F430.

Also in The Netherlands, a bike path that glows at night is reminiscent of the pattern in Van Gogh’s famous “Starry Night” painting.

We’re pretty happy to see options increasing in Austin – and maybe someday we’ll see them get weirder (although we can skip the French guy rocketing along Austin’s bike lanes).
