Bigger than F1 – Bicycles Everywhere You Turn in November

bicycle 2

The spotlight is firmly focused on bicycling this month and the stage really lights up on November 12 and 13. Here are a few events you won’t want to miss!

November 12 | 7:30 am Breakfast 8– 9 am Program | Austin City Hall – Council Chambers | Free

The DAA will host an Issues and Eggs event featuring two distinguished guests who will discuss how bicycling can improve the efficiency of a transportation network. Jon Orcutt will discuss how bike lanes and other bicycle infrastructure (particularly bike share and protected bikeways) are economic development strategies for New York City. Roger Geller will discuss Portland’s bicycle-friendly business districts and how Portland’s bicycle policies benefit the city economically.   RSVP Now!

November 12 | 5:30-8:30pm | St. David’s Episcopal Church

Cities for Cycling Road Show: The City of Austin will host a talk with visiting bicycle professionals from other cities to kick off Austin’s Bicycle Plan update.

The City of Austin is seeking to engage people who bicycle, businesses, and anyone interested as they consider updates to the Bicycle and Urban Trails Plan. The outcome, hopefully, is sensible, publicly supported, connected and safe integration of bicycles into the transportation network.

Got 10 minutes? Tell the City of Austin you think! They need YOUR input on your current experience of bicycling & trail use in Austin… and what kinds of routes and paths you’d like to see in the future!

November 13 | 10:00 am | 11th and Congress Ave

Austin B-Cycle will hold a press conference to announce initial station locations, the opening of membership enrollment, the color of Austin’s B-Cycle bicycles and recognize Founding Sponsors as Austin gears up for a December launch of our very own bike share system.
